David Dehardains, Thomas Beauregard, Chuck Weber, and the Kelly Cup

DD and Beau signed with the Hamilton Bulldogs for the 2008-09 season. They are the type of people who will go up there and they won't come back to Cincinnati. While it is sad to see them go, it is exciting that they earned a promotion. In professional anything, your goal is advancement. In the rungs below your goal, you think you are going to have it forever, yet strange things lead you to glory. And, in minor league sports, you want your favorites to stay forever, but you know deep in the darkest reigns of your heart, you need to let them go eventually so they can grow and succeed in life. June 5, 2008, was like high school graduation day for the Cincinnati Cyclones. Now, in the college that is the AHL, these men will get the chance to shine, and I am very proud of them.

Chuck Weber is a hot commodity.... but as of this moment he is still head coach of the Cyclones. Milwaukee named another coach and Hamilton seems set on theirs, so it is unlikely that Chuck is going anywhere.... unless it gets terrible in Triple-A. I honestly don't think Weber is ready to coach in the NHL yet, but winning 71 of 94 contests in a season has him ready for a promotion. Just not this year.

Don't forget about the NHL draft this weekend. Remember this: it may be insignificant to you, but the picks that Montreal and Nashville make will eventually affect future Cyclones rosters!

See you next time!
